Background and Aim : Brucellosis is the most common infectious disease between humans andanimals. Considering that Kashan is one of the endemic areas of brucellosis, the epidemiologyclinical presentation their treatment can play an important role in policy to control this disease inthe region.this study was done to evaluate epidemiologt ,clinical and paraclinical manifestationsof brucellosis during the years ۲۰۱۱ to ۲۰۲۱ in Kashan.Methods : This is a retrospective descriptive study of existing data on ۲۰۰ patients with brucellosiswho were admitted to Beheshti Hospital in Kashan during the years ۲۰۱۱ to ۲۰۲۱. A questionnairecontaining demographic and underlying disease information, clinical and laboratory findings andvariables of study was completed by reviewing the medical records of patients. The informationwas entered into SPSS software ۲۰ and the results were statistically analyzed using Chi-squaretest.Results : Most patients were male (۵۷.۵%). The mean age of patients was ۳۹.۳۸±۲۰.۵۹ years andthey were mostly in the age group of ۲۰-۳۰ years (۲۷.۱%). Most of the patients were Iranian. Mostof the patients' occupations were agriculture (۲۸%) and housekeeping (۲۳.۵%). ۲۳.۵% had at leastone underlying disease, of which diabetes (۵۹.۶%) and hypertension (۵۳.۲%) were the mostcommon. ۶۵.۵% had a history of consuming local dairy products. Fever (۷۹.۵%) and joint pain(۷۰.۵%) were the most common symptoms. There was a statistically significant relationshipbetween sex with liver involvement and age with joint involvement. ESR and CRP levels wereelevated in most patients. In most patients, Wright test was ۱.۳۲۰ and Combs Wright and ۲-Mercaptoethanol tests were ۱.۸۰.Conclusion : Due to the history of local dairy consumption as a most common risk factor,education in the field of pasteurized dairy consumption and boiling local milk seems necessary,and given that fever and joint pain were the most common symptoms of patients in all patientswith fever and joint pain, brucellosis should be differentiated. key words: Epidemiology,brucellosis, clinical findings, paraclinical, treatment
