Background and Aim : The Prevalence Rate of Candida abidans in Proventricular of Poultry inBabol City Abstract Among human food requirements, animal derived proteins are very importantbecause of their role in body growth, health and evolution. Biosecurity and controlling animal foodpollutants are important principles for disease controlling. Most of viral and bacterial infections ofpoultry industry can be prevented or attenuated by vaccination; however, fungal diseases in poultryindustry are only can be controlled by biosecurity. Candida albicans is an agent that can easilyenter into poultry houses and can make economic loses by reducing chicken growth. In this study,۱۰۰ carcasses from Babol poultry houses are investigated in order to determine prevalence rate ofC. albicans. After sampling, samples were cultures in SDA medium containing Chloramphenicoland after microscopically examination, positive ones (have Candida yeasts) were cultured ingenerative tube containing human serum. After microscopically examination, each tube havingclubby form agent was reported as positive and cultured in Corn Meal Agar medium to see bigspherical Candida yeast cells. In this study, the prevalence rate of C. albicans in proventriculus ofBabol poultry hoses chickens was ۴%. Statistical analysis result from K۲ test showed that therewas a significant correlation between Candida albicans prevalence and litter (sig<۰.۰۲۱) andpoultry house (sig=۰.۰۰۲). there was a significant differ between kind of litter and poultry house(sig=۰.۰۰۰).
