چکیده مقاله:

Background and Aim : Klebsiella species are among the most common bacteria isolated fromburn wounds that cause severe complications in patients. In recent years, drug resistance in bacteriahas increased, associated with increased mortality and treatment costs. Therefore, determining theantibiotic resistance pattern to select the appropriate treatment and planning to prevent the spreadof this infection seems necessary. Thus, the present study investigates the prevalence of K.pneumonia isolates and antimicrobial resistance patterns for two years in a burn hospital in theNorth of Iran. Methods : This study was performed on burn patients hospitalized from March ۲۰۱۸ to March۲۰۲۰. Antibiotic susceptibility testing of all isolates was performed according to CLSI instructions, and the results were analyzed by SPSS software version ۲۴.Results : ۶۱ cases (۱۰.۲۷%) of K. pneumonia isolates were isolated from ۵۹۴ clinical specimens. The mean age of patients was ۳۹.۱۵ years. Five cases (۸.۲%) of these infections were related topatients with VAP. The highest antibiotic susceptibility was observed to azithromycin (۶۸.۲%),and the highest resistance to imipenem (۸۵.۷%) was observed. Conclusion : because of the high prevalence of resistance in Klebsiella specimens, seriousmeasures are necessary for prescribing antibiotics based on the antibiogram pattern. Infectiontreatment protocols based on laboratory results can prevent increased antibiotic resistance.
