چکیده مقاله:
Background and Aim : Candidiasis is a fungal infection caused by yeasts from the genusCandida. In recent decades, the use of zinc oxide (ZnO-NPs) has been used due to the large energyband gap, chemical, thermal stability, high oxidation dependence, and non-toxicity was increased. This study aimed to evaluate of antifungal effects of zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO-NPs) andAmphotericin B (AMB) on different Candida spp in vitro conditionMethods : In the present study, the susceptibility of different Candida species to ZnO-NPs andAmB was determined by broth microdilution (BMD).Results : The results indicated that the ZnO-NPs showed antifungal activity against pathogenicCandida spp. The MIC (Minimum inhibitory concentration) and MFC (Minimum fungicidalconcentration) of ZnO-NPs were ۶۴ to ۱۲۸ μg/ml and ۲۵۶ to ۵۱۲ μg/ml, respectively. Incomparison, MIC and MFC of AmB were ۸ to ۱۶ μg/ml and ۱۶ to ۳۲ μg/ml, respectively. Conclusion : The ZnO-NPs showed antifungal activity against pathogenic Candida spp, but theseantifungal properties are less than AmB.
