چکیده مقاله:

Oxidation of alcohols is an important reaction in organic synthesis because it can give aldehyes/ketones asimportant organic intermediates. The selective oxidation of primary alcohols is very important matter in thistransformation because carboxylic acids can be also obtained by over oxidation of aldehydes. Therefore, controlling oxidation of primary alcohols to obtain aldehydes is one of the challenges in this process [۱].Todays, many efforts have been made to design and synthesize efficient and selective heterogeneouscatalysts for using in green oxidation of alcohols and developing green chemistry [۲]. For this purpose, theuse of solid substrates as the support (like graphene oxide, silica gel, alumina, etc.) for the synthesis ofheterogeneous catalysts has considerably increased [۳]. In this project, the NNO-donor ligand, (E)-۴-amino-N'-(phenyl(pyridin-۲-yl)methylene)benzohydrazide, was synthesized and characterized by elemental analysisand spectroscopic methods such as FT-IR, NMR, UV-Vis analyses. Ligand was used for preparing vanadiumcomplex by the reaction of HL and NH۴VO۳ in methanol. The structure of vanadium complex was determinedby single crystal X-ray analysis and characterized by FT-IR, NMR, UV-Vis, TGA, DRS and XRD analyses.Dinuclear vanadium complex was crystalized in the triclinic system. The molecular structure of dinuclearvanadium complex is shown in Fig. ۱. The supported catalyst was synthesized by the reaction of grapheneoxide and vanadium complex in distilled water at room temperature and dark brown precipitate was obtained. The supported catalyst was characterized by various methods such as FT-IR, TGA, DRS, XRD, EDX andSEM analyses. Heterogeneous catalyst was used in the oxidation of benzyl alcohol and the effect of variousparameters (concentration of catalyst and oxidant, solvent and temperature) was investigated. Theheterogeneous catalyst was recovered and characterized by FT-IR, XRD, EDX and SEM analyses. The resultsindicated that heterogeneous catalyst has high stability and activity in selective oxidation of alcohols.
