چکیده

In this study, first the nanoporous silica compound SBA-۱۵ was synthesized then the surface of thiscompound was first functionalized with an amine and finally with a carboxylic group agent. The finalfunctionalized nanoporous compound is a suitable adsorbent for the removal of cationic dye malachite green.The dye adsorption process was performed in a batch system and the conditions were optimized to achievethe desired adsorption. The effect of temperature, time, initial dye concentration, adsorbent dose, pH onadsorption efficiency was investigated and reported. The adsorption kinetics were investigated and it wasfound that the laboratory data are in good agreement with the pseudo-second order kinetics. Also, the dyeadsorption isotherm on the synthesized adsorbent was investigated and it showed the best agreement withTemkin isotherm.
