Ga,S co-doped TiO۲/RGO as a supreme photocatalyst for the selective oxidation ofbenzyl alcohol under visible light irradiation

چکیده
In this study, Ga, S co-doped TiO۲/reduced graphene oxide (GaxSy@TRG) nanocomposite was synthesizedby an innovative surfactant-free ultrasonic-assisted solvothermal method and used to catalyze the selectivephotocatalytic oxidation of benzyl alcohol under visible light irradiation. The prepared nanocomposites wereexamined for their ability in artificial photocatalysis and displayed remarkable catalytic activity for the selectiveoxidation of alcohols into benzaldehyde. The co-doped catalysts showed significantly enhanced photocatalyticability, due to improved photogenerated electrons transfer, enhanced charge carriers separation and extendedoptical absorption to the visible light range. The high conversion rate of ۸۵% was obtained over theGa۵.۰S۱۰.۰@TRG photocatalyst after ۱۱۰ min under visible light irradiation. The results from density functionaltheory (DFT) calculations revealed that the hybridization of Ga ۴s and S ۳p orbitals with valance band canremarkably affect the decreasing of band gap energy.کلیدواژه ها
