چکیده مقاله:

This study determined the effects of gibberellic acid application in relation with time of harvest on pod and seed characteristics of okra (Abelmoschus esculentus L. (Monech) cultivars. The study was carried out at farm of Agroland Company in Greece in ۲۰۲۰. Four cultivars of okra included, ‘Boyiatiou’, ‘Veloudo’, ‘Clemson’ and ‘Pileas’ and three gibberellic acid levels were considered. Result showed that there was no significant difference between gibberellic acid levels and seed germination of varieties. No significant difference was observed between parts of plant and seed germination of varieties. Pods from Boyiatiou variety when harvested ۵۰ days after flowering and under the effect of third level of gibberellic acid (G۳) with ۲۹.۵ % had the lowest percentage of seed germination. There was no significant difference between gibberellic acid levels and seed moisture content. Only Boyiatiou variety when pods harvested ۵۰ days after flowering showed a significant difference with total flower induction. Harvesting pods at ۳۰ days after flowering than other harvesting times produced lower flower induction. Using gibberellic acid had a significant effect on pod set of Boyiatiou variety when pods harvested ۵۰ days after flowering. In all harvesting times Clemson variety under the effect of gibberellic acid levels produced higher number of pods per plant than other varieties. There was a significant difference between gibberellic acid levels and pod length of Boyiatiou and Veloudo varieties when harvested ۳۰ days after flowering. Among all varieties Clemson variety under the effect of gibberellic acid levels produced lower pod length and diameter. The highest pod diameter with ۲.۲ cm was belong to Boyiatiou variety, pods that harvested ۳۰ days after flowering and under first level of gibberellic acid (G۱). The highest and lowest number of seeds per pod was belonging to Clemson and Veloudo variety under the effect of first level of gibberellic acid (G۱), respectively. Almost in all varieties, pods from middle part of plant had higher number of seed per pod under effect of gibberellic acid levels. In Boyiatiou and Veloudo varieties pods from lower part o plant under the effect of second (G۲) and third (G۳) level of gibberellic acid produced higher number of seed per pod, respectively. No significant difference was observed between gibberellic acid levels and ۱۰۰ seed weight in different parts of plant. Almost in Boyiatiou, Veloudo and Clemson varieties pods from upper part of plant had higher ۱۰۰ seed weight under the effect of gibberellic acid levels.
