چکیده مقاله:

Hydraulic Fracturing (Fracking) as one an important stimulation method in unconventional oil and gas reservoir development was always the main controversial technique. It is also used as an artificial creator of fracture networks in Enhanced Geothermal Systems (EGS).In order to move faster, safer and more economically in energy transfer routes from fossil-based energy resources toward low-carbon energy resources, it is essential that common and proven technologies be carefully examined and their risks and opportunities be well distinguished and analyzed.Toward achieving sustainable development goals, the effects of hydraulic fracturing on the environment, society and economy shall be well identified, distinguished and assessed. Consequently, mitigative and corrective actions for the potential problems and value-based strategies shall be defined to enable the decision makers implement them in policy/regulation making, work execution and process monitoring. In the following research paper, most of hydraulic fracturing advantages and disadvantages which is the basis of environmental, social and economic impact assessments as the three vertices of the sustainability assessment triangle will be briefly discussed. The findings will address the pros and cons raised about fracking through different research works around the world.
