Sexual Behavior Among Married Women During the COVID-۱۹ Pandemic

چکیده
Background and Objective: The COVID-۱۹ pandemic and its aftermath have had an impact on couples' sexual relationships. Couples' sexual behavior and its various aspects during this pandemic have received comparatively less attention. The aim of this study was to assess sexual behavior among married women in Kermanshah Province, in the west of Iran, during the COVID-۱۹ pandemic.Materials and Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted among ۴۲۶ married women in Kermanshah province. For data collection, a checklist consisting of demographic variables along with Larson's sexual satisfaction questionnaire and the ۶-item Female Sexual Function Index were utilized. Data was collected via an electronic survey during March ۲۰۲۱and April ۲۰۲۱. Hierarchical linear regression was conducted to investigate the related factors of function and sexual satisfaction.Results: The mean (SD) of sexual satisfaction and function scores were ۸۳.۲۵ (۴۰.۵۹) and ۱۹.۳۳ (۹.۸۲), respectively. During the pandemic, ۵۹.۵۲% reported fewer sexual intercourses, ۳۲.۷۴% reported an increase in sexual intercourses, and ۷.۷۴% reported no sexual intercourses. Also, ۳۵ (۸.۲۲%) participants reported experiencing sexual violence during this period; ۲۳ (۵.۴۰%) reported experiencing pain due to violence; and ۲۲ (۵.۱۶%) reported damage caused by sexual violence. A significant relationship was observed between sexual satisfaction and the women’s occupation, husband’s occupation, contraception type, having a chronic, and mental disorder, having experiencedpain due to sexual violence, having a history of damage caused by sexual violence, and high sexual function. Also, women’s age, women’s education, contraception type, socioeconomicstatus, and high sexual satisfaction were associated with the sexual function of women.Conclusion: These findings demonstrate the importance of women being well-informed about their sexual behavior. During this pandemic, strategies and standards are essential to protect women's married lives.کلیدواژه ها
