Evaluation of environmental health parameters for Covid-۱۹ disease in South Khorasan Province

چکیده مقاله:

Background & Aim: Prevention is the best solution to break the covid-۱۹ infection chain. The aim of the present study was to investigate the degree of adherence to environmental health parameters for Covid-۱۹ prevention in South Khorasan Province.Materials and Methods: This cross-sectional study was performed on ۴۱۰ residents of South Khorasan in ۲۰۲۱. The data collection instrument that included a researcher-madequestionnaire included demographic, knowledge, and performance questions. The validity and reliability of the questionnaire were confirmed, an online questionnaire was prepared and the questionnaire link was sent in online networks. Data were entered into SPSS ver.۱۶ and analyzed using independent t-test, analysis of variance and correlation coefficient. Pvalue≤۰.۰۵ was considered as a significance level. This article is the result of a research project approved by Birjand University of Medical Sciences with the ethics code IR.BUMS.REC.۱۳۹۹.۲۵۷.Results: The results showed that ۳۵.۹% and ۶۴.۱% of participants were women and men, respectively. A total of ۸۲.۹% of people wear masks outdoors and ۸۳.۷% of people wash their hands with sanitizer or soap on a daily basis. Statistical analysis showed no significant relationship between performance and demographic characteristics. But there was a significant relationship between knowledge with gender, level of education, job (P≤۰.۰۵).Conclusion: The participants had poor knowledge and performance and there is a need to provide education in this regard in order update Covid-۱۹ knowledge and change the behavior of the general public towards this emerging disease.
