Medical Misinformation during Public Health Crisis: By the emphasis on COVID-۱۹ pandemic

Background: Medical misinformation pertaining to the global COVID-۱۹ epidemic is putting unprecedented demands on healthcare professions. Innovative and adaptive approaches of practice will be necessary across the health professions in times of crisis. Existing professionals like information professionals must be thoroughly reviewed potential activates in order to play an important role in times of infodemic. Since clinical informationists practice varies significantly between nations, it's crucial to look into how the profession might help with the public health response to emergencies and crisis. The purpose of this article is to clarify the roles and actions that health professionals and information professionals like clinical informationists can play in helping to fight against spreading of misinformation during infodemic. Method: This review article was conducted by searching articles up to ۲۰۲۱. Data were collected from the published articles in database PubMed, Scopus, Science Direct, Google scholar and web of science. Results: The collected data from researches indicated that it's critical to consider the roles and actions that information professionals can play in helping people to fightagainst misinformation. Therefore key information professionals roles based on PPRR were presented. Conclusion: In the moment of crisis, public health agencies and policymakers should assess existing health professionals and information professionals make full use of any untapped potential among clinical informationists when reorganizing existing health services to response to the current public health crisis.
