چکیده مقاله:

Sport is a broad phenomenon that has a very strong connection with social institutions and structures. Today, in most countries of the world, the rate of participation in physical activity among women has increased significantly. Socio-economic status, which includes factors such as age, gender, level of education, number of family members, income, marital status and such indicators, affects people s tendency to physical activity. The purpose of this study is to assess the effect of Socio-economic status indicators on the tendency of women in Tehran to bodybuilding and tennis. The statistical population was women athletes in Tehran, one hundred of them were selected by convenient sampling. The instrument used was a web-based researcher-made questionnaire using the Likert scale containing ۱۷ items to assess SEO and also had a reliability of Cronbach s alpha of ۰.۸۷ and its content validity was confirmed by ۵ experts in this field. The research data was analyzed using the statistics software SPSS ۲۶.۰ and Analysis of variance (ANOVA) and independent t-test were also used. Findings indicate that there is a significant difference between the effect of Socio-economic status on the tendency to bodybuilding and the tendency of women to play tennis. Discussion: Based on the findings, it can be concluded that women with higher income and education and fewer family members played more tennis. Also, in some cases, these people were active in both sports. Therefore, according to these findings, we can emphasize on more support from public and private institutions in building tennis clubs and providing equipment made in our country and training classes at a lower cost for the use of a wider range of women.
