Designing a sustainable tourism model for beach sports events Case study: Golestan Province Beach Volleyball World Championship

Beach, sand and sun attractions have made beach recreational activities as a high potential version of sports tourism. Sport tourism scholars believed that improvement services quality and structures in tourism destinations had significant effect on satisfaction and future tourist’s attendance. Therefore need’s evaluation of tourist’s perceptions, and satisfactions should be considered as a main part of the social pillar of sustainability. Golestan province coasts as the center of beach volleyball in the country, which due to the presence of national athletes, hosts beach volleyball competition every year, which if properly planned, a suitable strategy for active Sports tourism industry is provided.The research was descriptive. Statistical population included sport tourists in world beach volleyball championship, that ۲۰۰ sports tourists were selected by randomly sampling. The research instrument was Ghezelsfloo et al. s (۲۰۱۸) sports tourism questionnaire including socio-cultural,legal,economic,infrastructure, services and environmental quality subscales. After ensuring the internal (α≥۰.۸۶), the construct validity and sampling adequacy were confirmed using KMO and Bartlett test. To analyze the data, LISREL and SPSS software were used (p≤۰.۰۵).Based on research’s model, to illustrate the effect of sport tourism’s dimensions on future attendance, with consider to level of (df<۵, χ۲ =۴.۷۶۴),CMIN (۰.۹۱), NFI (۰.۹۴) ،CFI (۰.۹۳) and RMSEA (۰.۸۳), can stated that, research model had optimal potential to predictor sport tourism’s future attendance. The results showed that all structures have significant effect on the return of tourists. But infrastructure (۰.۶۶), quality of service (۰.۶۱) and the quality of ecosystem (۰.۵۹) had the greatest impact on tourists to return. The results of multiple regression showed that infrastructure component (۰.۳۸) and the service quality (۰.۳۲) have a higher explanatory role.The results of the present study confirmed that ,in beach volleyball event Field, it is recommended to the responsible organizations to provide a platform for attracting more sports tourists by creating standard sports fields that are easily accessible, as well as holding beach volleyball sports competitions for the age-range groups. Inviting beach volleyball veterans and paying attention to the presence of national volleyball athletes have a significant impact on the development of sustainable sports tourists.
