Introduction and Aims: Cancer is a World problem and millions of patients around the world are diagnosed with different types of cancer. Cancer accounts for ۹% of all deaths and the second leading cause of death in the world. The aim of this study was to evaluate the epidemiology of types of cancers in south of Fars province.Materials and Methods: In this epidemiological study using recorded data from the at Amir al-Momenin hospital in Gerash, frequency distribution of cancers was studied and Data were analyzed using SPSS software version ۲۵.Results: The number of registered cancers was ۲۹۷ cases (۶۴% female and ۳۶% male) with a mean age of ۵۸/۵ ±۱۸. The most common cancers, respectively, were breast cancer with a ۳۳% prevalence and skin cancer with an ۱۸% prevalence. Most people affected cancer are in the age group of ۶۱-۷۰ years. The most frequent blood groups with cancer were O positive (۴۰%), B positive (۲۷%) and A positive (۲۰%), respectively. There was no significant relationship between gender and blood group in cancer patients (P>۰/۰۵). There was a significant relationship between gender and age group in people with cancer(P<۰/۰۵).Conclusions: Given the high prevalence of breast cancer in women and skin cancer in both sexes, it is recommended that further studies are conducted to investigate the risk factors, prevention strategies and survival of these cancers.
