چکیده مقاله:

Lost circulation defines as a situation which lower amount of actual pumped drilling fluid volume return to surface tanks during drilling operation. Lost circulation is one of the most time and cost consuming problems which can cause many operational problems such as differential pipe sticking, drill string stuck in the wellbore, drilling fluid costs due to compensate of the lost fluid via the formation, well flow, blowout and etc. controlling severe to total lost circulation in naturally/induced fractured formations has always been challenging specially in carbonate formations of Iran. Using conventional loss circulation materials (LCM) materials such as mica, shellfish, walnut shell and etc. will not be useful in most cases and couldn’t provide mechanical stability of the well and causes many wellbore instability problems. Sazeh Farnam Kish (SFK) CO. has introduced novel chemical loss prevention and loss control materials which are completely environmentally friend and are stable in both oil based, water based and also synthetic based mud and can seal formation fractures in every different kind of formation without disturbing wellbore concentration stress and also providing both chemical and mechanical stability of the wellbore wall. Application of this materials will be overviewed in one of the Irans offshore oil fields which severe to complete losses is a common problem in this field.
