Since the operating conditions of the cooling tower units provide such a suitable environment for bacteria and algae growth, taking measures for the disinfection process is strongly recommended. The sampling result revealed that bacteria counts of the effluent of the cooling towers are higher than the the water in the pond. The effectiveness of glucose oxidase enzyme for disinfecting the cooling tower unit has been shown.
