The regulatory requirements for low emissions from gas turbine power plants have increased recently. Iran Environmental organization is now requiring even lower rates of emissions of NOx, Co and other pollutants from both new and existing gas turbines. The main objective of the present paper is evaluating the CO emission in a stationary IGT۲۵ gas turbine combustor comprising ۱۸ second generation EV burner. The EV burner control NOx species properly (under ۲۵ ppm) but the CO concentration at part-load operation (۶۵%) should have been considered. In this regard, bypass system is used to keep the flame temperature at constant value and control CO emission by lowering air mass flow from compressor at part-load condition. For modeling, turbulence model along with finite rate Eddy dissipation combustion model and the global two-step kinetic mechanism are used to simulate the reacting flow field in the combustor. Simulation results show that the tuned global mechanism using the present methodology accurately predicts CO emission in the stationary gas turbine at specified operating conditions. Finally it shows that using bypass system with almost ۲۰% of air inlet have a significant effect in CO reduction.
