Impacts of Building Information Modeling (BIM) in management and reducing costs for construction projects: A review

One of the biggest and main problems that construction projects are facing is the increase in costs compared to the budget. Industry experts have always been looking for ways to reduce project costs while maintaining standard quality. Today, using BIM and building multi-dimensional digital models of projects and applying it throughout the project life cycle, as well as creating transparency in all processes, is the solution to many construction problems such as increased costs. The present study examines the effects of BIM on cost reduction in three phases: pre-fabrication, in-fabrication and post-fabrication by reviewing related articles and integrating them.
