چکیده

In this paper, Ni-Mo cathode electrode of the Al-water fuel cell prepared by the electrodeposition technique in different concentrations of nickel and molybdate salt. Finally, according to the existing conditions, the optimal state for cathode fabrication was obtained. Electrodeposition tests were performed in different concentrations of nickel and molybdate salt. The electrodes developed for use in the electrochemical cell of aluminum-water fuel cell were evaluated using two methods, Tafel and IV, and the most optimal case was used as the cathode electrode. All of these experiments were performed in oxygen-free ۱.۰ Molar KOH solutions, which were obtained by bubbling N۲ for ۱۵ min before the experiments. The results show that the developed material will have a higher apparent catalytic activity for hydrogen evolution reaction. The results showed that the solution content ۰.۸ g / l Mo has the more performance and will improve the reaction in the aluminum-water fuel cell. The evolution of hydrogen is one of the most popular electrochemical reactions. In the case of the HER mechanism, it is widely accepted that it occurs through two stages [i]: (...)Optimal electrode materials for HER should have strong inherent catalytic activity, large surface area, performance stability and low cost. Metal alloys such as Ni-Mo, are often considered as electrodes that show better catalytic activity than single metal [ii]. The aim of this paper is to develop cathode electrodes in different states in order to evaluate their suitability for HER in terms of catalytic activity. The electrodes developed for use in the electrochemical cell of aluminum-water fuel cell were evaluated using two methods, Tafel and IV, and the most optimal case was used as the cathode electrode.Electrodeposition tests were performed in different concentrations of nickel and molybdate salt. The bath compositions and operating conditions used in the electrodeposition process are described in Table (۱).Electrodeposition was performed in a one-compartment cell with sufficient holes to accommodate the electrode. The substrate surface is placed in a position where a portion of ۲ cm۲ in the solution is reacted. The counter electrode is a large area platinum electrode and the reference electrode is Ag-AgCl, and the experiments were performed usingpotentiostat/galvanostat AUTOLABPGSTAT۳۰۲N.The catalytic activity was determined to evaluate the obtained electrode using IV and Tafel curveanalysis. All of these experiments were performed in oxygen-free ۱ M KOH solutions, whichwere obtained by bubbling N۲ for ۱۵ min before the experiments. As shown in Figure (۲), voltagechanges at a current density of ۱۰ mA were investigated and shown to perform better at theelectrode (۱).Also, the polarization curve analysis was measured for three electrode sample. Figure ۳ show theTafel curve of the electrode samples in KOH ۱M. The values of corrosion potential (Ecorr) andcorrosion current density (Icorr) are calculated from Tafel diagrams In this paper, the cathode electrode was fabricated using nickel-containing salts and examinedusing two analyzes IV and Tafel. The results showed that the solution content ۰.۸ g/l MO has themore performance and will improve the reaction in the aluminum-water fuel cell.
