Designing and Implementing of a hybrid fuse cut-out to increase the controllability of maneuver points in distribution networks

چکیده

Distribution systems deliver electricity almost everywhere, taking power generated at many power plants and delivering it to the end users. The existence of numerous consumers has caused the extension and complexity of distribution networks and as a result the reliability and stability of the networks have been affected. In order to improve the reliability, the distribution networks are connected to each other in maneuver points. The capability of connecting the networks is provided with either a distribution disconnect blade or a fuse cut-out in such points. Due to the fact that the protective devices and switches play an important role in the reliability of electrical distribution networks by minimizing the impact of interruption, this paper presents a new generation of fuse cutouts in which the power system reliability can be improved especially for situations where temporary faults and network maintenances are common with less investment and considering more protective aspects. The proposed fuse cut-out, hybrid fuse cut-out, were designed, implemented and applied on several sample feeders to analyze its real function and to show its superiorities against to the others. The results were analyzed and compared with the results of applying normal fuse cut-outs in networks. Finally it was concluded that applying the hybrid fuse cut-out in maneuver points will improve the reliability of distribution networks, decrease the amount of undistributed electrical energy and the number of interruptions, and facilitate the utilization process along with its simple structure. Moreover they will be considered as a smart device in smart grids by developing its structure.
