To increase the production rate of hydrocarbon by tertiary oil recovery (EOR) technique, rock physics data analysis applied in one of our sandstone reservoir to carefully investigate the possibility of running such operation. Rock physics studies, as a time-lapse feasibility tool, would be the preliminary step in which they help geoscientists and reservoir engineers to precisely decide about the future production/development plans of our sandstone reservoir. It measures the impact of fluid/rock changes in time-lapse response domain. To do so, a Petro-Elastic Model (PEM) was built for the entire oil field based on several available well data sets in the field. Two other wells drilled after and consequently verified the predicted responses of the model in those new well locations. PEM, as a flexible rock physics model, was adapted to fluid substitutions, by means of its sensible calculation to saturation and pressure changes. After water flooding into the reservoirs, a significant 4-D response changes would be observed. Various flood injection scenarios were considered for water flood in our reservoir X, based on the EOR project scheme. This study showed that the water flood injection in reservoir X would induce a maximum relative change in Vp, Vs, and density of +4%, -2.5%, and +5%, respectively.
