Direct Digital Synthesizer Performance Comparison with Analog Sine Wave Generator

This work aims to relate comparison metrics for both Direct Digital Synthesizers (DDS) and their analogcounterparts. The proposed metrics are Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) and maximum absolute error.Error is theoretically formulated into closed forms for known systematic parameters of DDS, samplerate, and bit counts. By the use of Matlab scripting, the system model is simulated for a wide range ofparameters sweep.
