SOCIO-ECONOMIC ISSUES OF SUSTAINABLE SOIL MANAGEMENT - HILLY BELGRADE AREA IN SERBIA

This paper presents a model of sustainable management of land resources, adapted to the conditions of the part of the hilly Belgrade area of Serbia. It includes the planning of production on sloping terrain from the aspect of land resources protection, then the needs of the population for certain localities particular production, and profitability of planned production. Regarding ecological effects of the model of SLM, soil loss is reduced under the level of tolerance in the researched area. Economic effects of the established model of SLM, proved by Benefit-Cost Analysis, are on the satisfactory to significant level. These reasons are enabling people to stay and survive in these regions.
