چکیده

The aim of this paper is to study the opinions of two famous orientalists on the personality dimensions of Imam Ali (P.B.U.H). In fact, no religion in the West has been as intellectually attacked by its opponents as Islam. Some orientalists have paid special attention to the Shia, especially Imam Ali (P.B.U.H) due to his special position. The field of Orientalism and Orientalists is a wide field and has various and numerous dimensions. Examining the degree of neutrality of Orientalists and the validity of their views, as well as their classification in this regard, is one of these dimensions. One of the group's most prominent figures is Henri Lammens, a Belgian priest. He is one of the authors of the Islamic Encyclopedia and his works and theories are very popular. Another orientalist is Laura Veccia Vaglieri, an Italian orientalist. She is the author of books on the historical and institutional analysis of the Arab and Muslim world. In this Paper, the opinions of these two orientalists are perused and their claims about the personality of Imam Ali (P.B.U.H) are criticized by mentioning some reasons.
