Here, the enhancement of photon adsorption using strained carbon nanotubes (SCNT) is considered and the improvement of Gallium- Arsenide (GaAs) solar cell efficiency with respect to this factor is investigated. Based on the results of the studies, it was found that the strain can cause some changes in the properties of carbon nanotubes. Using a thin layer of strained carbon nanotubes applied to GaAs solar cells, the effect of this layer on the performance of GaAs solar cells is evaluated. The main purpose of applying this layer is to absorb more photons and prevent them from reflecting after they hit the surface of the solar cell. It has been shown that the use of a ۱۰% uniaxial strain of carbon nanotubes can increase the efficiency of single-junction solar cells. This is due to a ۰.۸% increase in photon acceptance rate in the strained carbon nanotubes, which increases the solar cell efficiency by about ۰.۶% compared to the non-strained models.
