What is Competency in Competency Based Language Teaching

Competency –based language teaching (CBLT) was derived from competency –based education to meet the objectives of language learners and in order to make them well prepared for real-life situations. This paper elaborates the different views towards the notion of competency and its meaning .Then it brings up the key features of this approach.
