چکیده مقاله:

In traditional Iranian architecture and urban planning, the principles of sustainability have long been considered as special parameters in design, and on the other hand, water is the lifeblood and its provision to meet daily needs has always been one of the most important concerns of human beings. The people of the past, with their wisdom and experience, found a suitable solution to this problem, and by building an Ab-Anbar, which by storing water in winter and its productivity in summer, can create climatic comfort in the region. Ab-Anbar in each area is coordinated with all the environmental and natural facilities and restrictions of their place and is fully compatible with the environment of each city. However, in the process of designing and planning new developments in the city, the principles of sustainability have been forgotten. The main purpose of this study is to identify the principles of sustainability of indigenous and local Iranian architecture that have been collected using field and library studies and descriptive-analytical methods. Thus, after studying, collecting and analyzing theoretical foundations, then the relationship between the principles of sustainability and the components of local architecture and especially water reservoir architecture as one of the masterpieces of local and traditional architecture in water storage and supply is discussed.
