چکیده

Bridge design requires a comprehensive understanding and knowledge of whole the components of the structure. A cable bridge is a type of bridge in which the deck hangs below suspension cables on vertical hangers. Using modern suspension bridges, the longer distance structures in comparison with the other types of bridges can be designed and covered. Suspension bridges present an elegant and competitive solution for connecting two points over long spans employing low material content. In this review paper, novel materials which are used in the construction of suspension bridge are assessed. Then the caisson foundation details are expressed and reviewed. Moreover, duo to the importance of dynamic characteristics of suspension bridges as well as their flexibility, and vulnerability, the existing methods to reflect dynamic frequencies and mode shapes are compared and investigated. Finally, the application of winch in the construction of cable suspension bridge is studied.
