The effect of gum disease on heart health

The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of gum disease on heart health. The present study is an applied research and in terms of method is alsodescriptive-survey. The statistical population of this study was ۲۵۰ people who referred to a heart hospital in Tehran and had a history of gingival problems. Thesample size based on Morgan table is ۱۴۸ people and sampling method is also available. In this study, these patients and their history were examined and datarelated to their heart condition and dental status were studied. Then k-s test and one-sample t-test were used and data were analyzed by SPSS software. The results showed that in the spatial area of this study and by examining in relation to the study sample, gum diseases (gingivitis, gingivitis and periodontitis) have a negative impact on heart health.
