Background and Objective: The goal of prenatal care is to identify and correct behavioral and social abnormalities that assess a woman's physical health before pregnancy, which can reduce mortality and morbidity and dissatisfaction of mothers and infants with early diagnosis, treatment, or prevention. In addition to human benefits, prenatal care has many economic benefits for the government.Materials and Methods: The present study is a review study conducted by searching the Persian databases Sid, Iran doc and Google scholar search engine with the keywords "prenatal care", "pregnancy costs", "prevention of possible diseases for mother and fetus" and PUBMED foreign and reputable database with the keyword "Pre-pregnancy care" pregnancy cost "" Prevention of possible diseases for mother and fetus "has been done from ۲۰۰۰ to ۲۰۱۸.Results: During the study, prenatal care could have a positive and significant effect on general health expenditures in developing and developed countries. This result is consistent with the results of Aliazmani (۲۰۱۵), Dr. Hajar Sharmi et al. (۲۰۰۵-۲۰۰۷) and Handler. Et al. (۲۰۱۰) is consistent in that these cares have positive effects on disease prevention and reduce government and individual costs and increase the health index in the study areas, but lack of awareness in some of the studied cases leads to rejection. Those people have been prevented from receiving such assistance.Discussion and Conclusion: The results of this study indicate that this type of preventive care has positive aspects in behavioral and social fields, but due to lack of awareness and weaknesses in the service delivery system to satisfy couples, the reception of this issue is weak. Therefore, it is necessary to find solutions to welcome this issue more.
