Safflower, Carthamus tinctorius, is a highly branched, herbaceous, thistle-like annual plant. It is commercially cultivated for oil extracted from the seeds. In order to study genetic analysis and inheritance of different traits, an experiment was conducted in ۲۰۱۳-۲۰۱۵ in the researching farm in Isfahan, Iran. A cross was made between the pure lines (KIR۱۰۱۵× Ac-Sunset) under drought stress. Five generations P۱, P۲, F۱, F۲ and F۳ were produced and cultivated based on randomized complete block design with three replications. The results of generation mean analysis showed that for plant biomass condition two parameters m and [a] were the best fitted. Three parameters m, [a] and [d] were shown to be the best fit of the observed to the expected generation means for number of head per plant and number of branch in stress conditions. Yield related traits such as plant seed yield, number of head per plant and oil content were controlled by additive effects.
