New Historicist Study of Simin Daneshvarʼs Savushun

The present article concentrates on Savushun, to put New Historicism on it as a mode of interpretation. This novel investigates the complex networks of social discourses along with the concepts of power, subversion and resistance in New Historicist reading of it. The “textuality of history” with “the history of text” defined by Louis Montrose and quoted by Stephen Greenblatt are the major concepts of New Historicism shown and applied in this novel.
