In the present study kinetic of propene oligomerization reaction over HZSM-۵ zeolite was studied and kinetic parameters such as rate constant and activation energy were evaluated. Initially a number of reaction were carried out over HZSM-۵ zeolite with different Si/Al ratio (۱۰-۵۰) at atmospheric pressure, temperature in the range of ۲۵۰-۴۰۰ œC and GHSV=۱۹۵-۱۱۷۰ h-۱ and it was found that the highest quantity of C۷+ hydrocarbons was obtained with HZSM-۵ of Si/Al molar ratio=۲۵. The zeolite with Si/Al ratio of ۲۵ was then chosen for the kinetic study. The reaction rate was described by a power law kinetic model based on propene consumption. The reaction followed a first order type reaction and the activation energy obtained suggests that propene oligomerization was limited by mass transfer.
