چکیده مقاله:

Introduction: In recent years, traditional medicine has increasingly attracted public attention in the treatment of various cancers. Herein, nanovehicles came onto the scene of drug therapy as a type of drug delivery vector. A self-nanoemulsifying drug delivery system (SNEDDS) has developed a new route to improve the efficacy of oil extracts of Citrus aurantium L. blossoms and Rose damascena. Methods: SNEDDSs were prepared from a mixture of castor oil, tween ۸۰, and polyethylene glycol ۶۰۰ under dilution with water. Preparation of the blank SNEDDSs was carried out by mixing castor oil, tween ۸۰ and PEG ۶۰۰ in a vortex mixer for ۱ min; then, distilled water was added, and vortexed. The in vitro cytotoxicity of SNEDDSs was examined by the MTT assay on MCF۷ and PANC۱ cells. Results: The data shows that the viability of MCF۷ and PANC cells in the presence of blank SNEDDSs was about ۸۰–۱۰۰%, demonstrating no significant difference in the viabilities with the control. Citrus aurantium L. blossoms-loaded SNEDDS and Rose damascena-loaded SNEDDS reduced the cell viability to about ۴۸% and ۲۲% in MCF۷, and ۷۴% and ۴۹% in PANC۱, respectively. Conclusion: SNEDDSs with promising characteristics can serve as platform technology for the oral delivery of the extracts. All of the results presented above demonstrate higher effectiveness of SNEDDS.
