The Epidemiological study of common cancers in Qazvin province (۲۰۱۷)

Introduction: Cancer is currently the second leading cause of death in most societies, including Iran. Cancer is one of the most important health priorities in Iran, and attention and planning to control it is important. Methods: A population based cancer registry was undertaken register all new cancer cases during a one year period (March ۲۰۱۷ to March ۲۰۱۸). Data were collected by recording consecutive cancer patients from all referral and valid pathology. Results: The number of new cases of cancer in ۲۰۱۷ in Qazvin province was ۱۷۵۲ cases. Of these, ۸۰۱ cases (۴۶%) of cancers occurred in women and ۹۵۱ cases (۵۴%) occurred in men. The incidence of crude and standardized age incidence of total cancers in the total population of the province were ۱۳۶ and ۱۳۹.۳۰ per ۱۰۰,۰۰۰ people, respectively. Conclusions: In recent years, the incidence of some cancers, including colon and breast cancers, has increased. Therefore, today cancers are one of the important priorities of the health sector in Iran .And paying attention to these types of diseases and planning to control them has been very necessary and important . And it can play a very important role in promoting health in society.
