چکیده

Surfacta nts are compounds that can be fo und in a multitude of domains, from industrial settings to research laboratorie s and are t he part of our daily li ves. Due to their unique structure they can drastically modify the inte rfacial properties. It is well known that corrosio n never sto ps but its scope and severity can be lessened. The main problem of using stainless steel is its dissolutio n in industrial water. Several met hods are em ployed for the corrosio n preventio n. The addi tion of surfactants into aggressive media such as acid and salt solutio ns is one of the metho ds for achi eving this goal. Surfa ctants exert the inhibition action b y adsorptio n on the metal surface s such that chemical structure of the ionic head (hydrophilic part) attacks the met al surface while its tail (hydrophobi c part) extends to the solution face. In the prese nt work, the inhibition effect of C TAB on the corrosion of stainless s teel in ۲.۰ M NaCl solution was investigated b y different ways [۱-۳].
