The Kinetics &Termod ymic Study on adsorption of ascorbic acid using SiO۲ and PPy/S iO۲ nanoc omposite

Ascorbic acid is com monly used in the pharmaceutical, chemical, c osmetic and food industry as antiox idant [۱]. A scorbic aci d is very sensitive to li ght, to the action of oxidizing agents and met al ions. In the current study, the silica gel and chemically modified silica gel with polypyrrole were used for adsorption and preconcentration of ascorbic acid from aqueo us solutions.Materials and methods: Adsorption experiments were carried out using batch system an d the vari ous empirical paramete rs such as adsorbent d ose, initial a cid concentration, contact time an d temperature were studied. The data obtaine d in differ ent conditions was app lied to access isother m,kinetics and thermod ynamic var iables and th en compare d with thos e obtained f rom untreate d SiO۲ in t he same operational ads orption cond itions [۲].
