چکیده مقاله:

Chemical machi ning (CM), electro-ch emical machining (ECM) and electro-discharge machining (EDM) are among the conv entional methods whic h have successful results on machining process in micro scale (micro-machining). In chemical machining, which is m ostly done by strong acid and toxic substances, work risks are very high and the pr ocess often faces with many challenges [۱]. I n biomachi ning, which is one of the most re cent methods of machining, bacteria such as Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans are used for material removal from the piece’s surface. Thus far, some studi es have be en carried out on this process and many advantages have been presented for it co mpared with other mo dern machin ing methods [۲]. Despite of man y advantag es, biomach ining has its own problems. For example, the Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans bacterium used in the process can grow and act only in acidic pH (pH=۱-۳) and, in higher pH, its activities decrease [۳]. In this work, a ne w method which does not have the above-me ntioned pro blems and makes it pos sible to co ntrol the ma terial removal rate and maintain surfaces integrity characteristics presen ted.
