چکیده مقاله:
This study investigated the re moval of Cd۲+, Cu۲+, Ni ۲+, and Pb۲+ from aqueo us solutions using nanoparticle sorbents (TiO۲, and MgO, ) with a range of exp erimental a pproaches. These include, competi ng ions, contact time, SEM-EDX , TEM, an d XRD. Experiments were performed in bat ch condition s to measure the removal rate an d uptake at equilibrium with single and multiple component solutions. The maxi mum uptake values (su m of four metals)with multiple component so lutions we re ۵۹۴.۹, and ۴۹.۴ m g g–۱, for MgO, and TiO۲, respectively. The sorption e quilibrium isotherms were describ ed using th e Freundlic h and Langm uir models. The best in terpretation for experim ent data wa s given by Freundlich model for C d۲+, Cu۲+, a nd Ni۲+ in s ingle and multiple com ponent solutions. A first order kinetic model adequately described the experimental data u sing MgO, and TiO۲. SEM- EDX both before and after metal sorption, and Mg O soil solu tion saturation indices (SI) with V isual MINTEQ Software indicated that the main sorption mechan ism for he avy metals was attribu table to adsorption and precipitation, whereas heavy metal sorption by TiO۲ adsor bents was d ue to adsorption.
