Effect of t he Au Catalyst on G rowth of Carbon N anostructures with Methanol via H FCVD

Since their first discovery in ۱۹۹۱ carbo n nanotubes (CNTs) have been synthesized by three main methods: arc discharge, laser ablation and chemical vapor deposition (CVD) [۱]. Excellent mechanical, electri cal and surface properties of CNTs make them ideal candidates for a wide range of applications such as structural materials [۲], sensors [ ۳], field emission displays [۴] and hydrogen st orage materials [۵]. The influence of the proce ss paramete rs by HFCV D on the g rowth of CNTs having specific properties tha t being the process strongly influenced by th e system ge ometry (local kinetic, gas flow a nd gas tem perature). Using alcoho l sources is one of the most attracti ve methods for the SWC NTs growth by HFCVD .
