Novel microfibers of rotaxan es from the Inclusion Complex Reactions of a, β, ƴ-Cycl odextrins with copolymer of poly(thiou rethane)

Although th e reactions of toluene diisocyanates with many organic ma terials are k nown; their bulk reactions with organic s ulfur polym ers and form ation of hex agonal microstructures of the copolymer h ave not been studied. In this study, we have found tha t inclusion complex f ormations of this c opolymer w ith a,B,y-Cyclodextrins can transform the hexagonal crystalline copolymer stru ctures into novel m icrofibers; indicating that cyclodextrins cavity may not o nly forms a complex, but it c ontrols the diameter of the microfib ers and for mation of new microfibers from inclusion complex of c yclodextrins with thiourethane.
