چکیده مقاله:
Environ mental problems have be come a global concern because of t heir impact on public health. Nearly ۲۵% of the diseases facing humans today occur beca use long-te rm exposure to environm ental pollution, includi ng air, soil, and water pollution[۱]. Dyeing effluent is one of the largest c ontributors to textile field and such wastewater has a seriously destructive impact o n the human h ealth. Various metho ds such as advance o xidation, photo catalysis, coagulation,membran e filtration, and adsorption, have been rep orted to p revent dyes discharge and contamination[۲]. Among these methods, the adsorption technique is especially attr active because of its high efficiency, simplicity of design, and ease of operation [۳] . Many adsorbents have been tested to decrease the dye conce ntrations from aqueous solutions, s uch as clay, peat, chitin, silica and act ivate carbon[۴]. Among these activated carbo n is widely used to remove aqueous organic pollutants such as dyes, pesticides, phenols and so on[۵]. In recent years mesopor ous carbon have been u sed for Hy drogen stora ge, microextraction, Adsorption and separation of environmental pollutants[۶-۸] . In the present work mesoporou s carbon C MK-۳ adsorbent was prepa red, characterized, and used for the removal of Janus green B dye from aqueous solution. Ad sorption ex periments were carried out as batch studies and the experim ental data obtained from t he equilibriu m studies are fitted to Langmuir, Freundlich a dsorption m odels. In additi on, kinetic and thermod ynamic studies are also carried out to determine the characters of adsorption process.
