چکیده مقاله:

Study o f organic corrosion inhibitors is an attractiv e field of research due to its usefu lness in various industries. Hydrochloric acid is generally used for the removal of undesirable rust in industrial processes. Inhibitors are usual ly used in these proces ses to control the corrosion of the metals.Most of the we ll-known acid inhibitors areorganic compounds containing nitrogen, sulphur and oxygen [۱–۴]. T hese comp ounds can adsorb o n the steel surface andbloc k the activ e sites dec reasing th e corrosion rate.Schiff bases have been reported as potenti al inhibitors on corrosion of different met als [۶,۷].In this research we studied the inhibition action of some N a nd O donor Schiff Bases on Mild Steel corrosion in ۱ M HCl by polariz ation, elect rochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and weight loss measurements. The inh ibitors were synthesized, characterized and used as ne w corrosion inhibitors for mild steel. The effect of various parameters su ch as temperature and inhibitor concentration on theprotection efficien cy has been studied. The adsorption of u sed comp ounds on the steel surface obeys Lan gmuir’s isotherm [۷].
