Synthesis, characterizatio n and theo retical st udy of som e new phos phohydrazides

Phosphoramides are an effi cient class of compounds with application s as urease and acetylcholinesterase inhibitors and stereoselective catalysts [۱]. Due to the high oxophilic nature of phosphoryl group, these comp ounds are also efficie nt complexant molecul es for lanthanides [۲]. H ydrazide a nd hydrazon e functional groups have shown significant r ole as pharmaceutical a gents, possessing antimicrobial, antitubercular and antitum or activities [۳]. Putting together the importan t functional groups in one molecule may caus e new biol ogical prope rties. Contin uing our study on phosphoramide chemistry, here we rep ort the synthesis and sp ectral chara cterization of ۵ new p hosphohydra zides based on tert-butyl carbazate with the general formu la R۲P(O)[ NHNHC(O)O-tBu], R= -OPh (۱), -OH (۲) and RP(O)[NHNHC (O)O-tBu]۲, R= - Ph (۳), -OP h (۴), -NHPh (۵). In or der to study the structural and electronic parameters of the compounds in the gas phase, DFT quantum che mical calculations have been also performed.
