چکیده مقاله:

Utilizing frequency spectrum so called millimeter-wave in implementation of ۵G mobile telecommunication links is considered as one of the bright viewpoints of this frequency spectrum. Due to requirement for design of short-range links in this frequency spectrum possessing steerable narrow beam, it is mandatory to utilize phased array antennas. The potential of steering the radiation pattern in such arrays is provided through utilizing the active phase shifting devices as the feed elements of the antennas. PIN diodes and ferrite components are considered as such devices. However, using the passive device of Butler matrix is considered as simpler and more convenient tool to realize demanded beam-forming. In this paper, the structure of a ۱۶×۱۶ Butler matrix based on microstrip transmission line technology in central frequency of ۳۰ GHz is proposed and its simulation results are presented. The simulation results have been attained by Comsol software based on numerical method of finite element. This compact structure can be implemented over single layer boards and employed in multi-ports devices proper for ۵G mobile telecommunication applications.
