خلاصه مقاله:
Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the gastrointestinal tract's most common malignancy. This research was aimed at defining gene signatures during CRC and revealing their possible mechanisms. Key genes and pathways could be identified in colorectal cancer by analyzing microarray data. GSE۲۳۸۷۸ gene expression profiles have been downloaded from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database. The GSE۲۳۸۷۸ dataset contains ۶۰ samples, including ۳۶ CRC and ۲۴ normal colon epitheliums. The enrichment analyses of the gene ontology (GO) and the Kyoto Encyclopedia of the Genes and Genomes Pathway (KEGG) were carried out, and the protein-protein interaction (PPI) network of the differentially expressed genes (DEGs) was developed by the software of Cytoscape. The protein interaction information obtained has been screened for protein-protein interaction networks between DEGs and hub genes and function node. A total of ۲,۲۹۶ DEGs have been collected and ۳۴ pathways have enriched them. Further analysis revealed DEGs and disrupted biological functions discovered in this study that play a significant role in CRC production and may lead to the understanding of CRC molecular mechanisms. Through studying these biological functions and pathways, we will shed light on molecular-level further insight into CRC production and explore potential candidate biomarkers for diagnostic, prognostic, and drug targets. The aim of these understandings could be to outline the possible mechanisms by which probiotics can exert their beneficial effects on the prevention of CRC.
