OPTIMAL SEISMOLOGICAL NETWORK DESIGNING BY THE EXAMPLE OF ARMENIA

Detailed and comprehensive seismicity studies require reliable data on hypocenter parameters of earthquakes in the hypocentral region. It is well known, that the accuracy of hypocenter determinations depend largely on the relative positions of seismic stations as well as their positions with respect to the hypocentral zone. The accuracy of hypocenter determination is very important for solving theoretical and experimental seismology problems. There are two ways to obtain more accurate hypocenter coordinates. The first one is the use of optimal algorithms of hypocentral determination. The second one is the construction of optimal observation network which would minimize-errors in hypocenter determination with the assigned set of observation points.
