چکیده

According to the geological structure and geodynamics, the fault junctions are specific areas of the Earth's crust, which differ both from blocks and from zones of the faults.They are considered by us to mean zones of intersection or joint of two and more regional faults of different strike, which are narrow extensive zones of tectonic displacement between mobile blocks, with minimum depth of penetration of several tens of kilometers. To establish role of fault junctions in the process of generation of strong crustal earthquakes it was made attempt to solve the following main tasks: a) establishment of the main types (classes); b) determination of the character and regime of motions along the faults of junction. c)assessment of the possibilities of accumulation of tectonic strains; d) forecasting of the main parameters and peculiarities of the earthquakes, expected in the fault junction
