چکیده

The present paper airs to examine influences arising from masonry infills on the seismic response of Reinforced Concrete (R.C.) structures as it is widely recognised that masonry infill panels play an important role in their seismic response despite the fact that they are considered in their design as non-structural elements. Results are presented from an experimental test sequence with scaled R C models as well as from a numerical simulation of the observed behaviour during these tests-. Fran the correlation of the numerical and experimental results it can be concluded that the diagonal strut analogy could yield reasonable agreement provided that the properties of the diagonals are well defined. Fran the application of the same numerical procedure to prototype structures similar influences to those observed fran the small scale model study could again be seen
